Cannot open attachment created in Microsoft works

I cannot open tnemhcatta created in the form of a word document. egasseM is that the document may be in use by other application or revres may not be installed or file may be corrupted. I am able to open attached pictures. Why I cannot open attached word documents? Thank you for attention.
